As a dedicated FC player, I always dive deep into the weekly SBC cards, carefully weighing which ones are worth investing time and resources into and which ones can be safely ignored. In this article, I'll share my thoughts and strategies on this week's SBCs, hoping to help fellow players navigate this often-confusing landscape.
Let's start with a few cards that I believe are definitely worth crafting. Malmoush is one card that left a strong impression on me this week. With an impressive pace rating of 93, this Bundesliga player is a must-have for those who enjoy a fast-paced attacking style. I've used him in several matches and experimented with two different styles: the "Hawk" chemistry style to further boost his pace and shooting, and the "Marksman" style, which I personally prefer as it enhances his finishing and adds to his dribbling and physicality. If, like me, you're just starting to build a Bundesliga squad, this card is an excellent choice.
Another card I highly recommend is Rutter. Although criticized for being overpriced when it was first released, his French nationality and Premier League chemistry make him incredibly versatile. Additionally, Rutter boasts five-star weak foot, which is extremely useful in the current meta. I personally prefer playing him as a CAM and using the "Hunter" chemistry style to maximize his pace and finishing. While his dribbling (87 rating) might not be as fluid as shorter players due to his height (182 cm) and build, he still feels very controlled in game. Compared to last week's Sterling, I believe Rutter performs much better.
Next up is the card I think is the most unmissable this week: Di Lorenzo. In my opinion, this Serie A card is an absolute must-craft. I was surprised to see him available for only 80k FC coins, as his stats and chemistry links are totally worth it. As a right-back, he excels in pace, defending, and physicality, and I've found him to be incredibly reliable in long-range chasing after applying the "Anchor" chemistry style. If you're building a Serie A squad or already have cards like Kalidou Koulibaly, Di Lorenzo is a fantastic chemistry link and in game asset.
Of course, there are also some SBC cards that I think are a complete waste of time and resources. Balerdi is one of them. To be honest, I'm really struggling to understand why EA released such a mediocre card. Four-star skill and three-star weak foot, no playerstyle+, and limited stat boosts make him feel very underwhelming in-game. Even as a PSG player, he doesn't effectively link with Mbappe, and he's completely lost the form he had in previous years. Unless you're a die-hard fan, I can't find any reason to craft this card.
This week's SBC system also revealed some interesting design choices from EA. The Dunn card shows how EA cleverly uses SBCs and evolutions to solve chemistry link issues. Dunn can link with the NWSL players Morgan and Swanson, allowing you to build a powerful all-NWSL squad through chemistry style boosts. This design reminds me of the similar "Three Threats" event last year, where EA cleverly combined SBCs and evolutions to provide players with more build possibilities. It also makes me excited for future cross-league events.
This week's SBC spotlight has revealed some very worthwhile cards to craft, especially those with exceptional value like Di Lorenzo. It has also sparked my interest in future EA event designs.
